About Amrita Madabushi
Dr. Amrita Madabushi is a collegiate professor of biotechnology at the University of Maryland Global Campus and founder of EmpowerBio, a biotech training company. She has a PhD in Biochemistry and has over a decade of experience mentoring biotechnology students, enhancing their education through training, networking, and placements. She has also managed fellowship programs at the National Institute on Aging (NIH) and introduced innovative initiatives to support career transition. Amrita has a demonstrated history of working in higher education, government and in collaboration with industry partners. She co-chairs the Women in Bio Capital Chapter, has co-founded the Maryland Collegiate STEM Conference and initiated the Maryland BioEducators Network, to support training and careers in biotechnology. Her contributions have earned her accolades such as The Center Club 2024 Trailblazer in STEM Award and the 2023 Women In Bio Capital Region Rising Star Award. She serves on advisory boards for biotechnology programs and is a leader in biotech education and workforce development.
